If you want the New tybe 2,4" OLED display.
It is possible, but first we need to check if you controller is ready for the new display.
If you have "42" AND "39" on the PCB. you are good to update to latest firmware. and use OLED
Otherwise make the modification below,
Renember OLED display alway go in to Gear Indicator port
Software <= 173 both tybe of displays 4 line Text, and OLED as gearindicator , but wiring on the OLED was different then today,
Software = 174 both tybe of displays 4 line Text, and OLED as gearindicator
Software >= 175 Only OLED display as Gear Indicator and Menu for change parameters
For software 174 and up this has to be checked.
OLED 2,4" you are able to use for both Menu and Display, if SW is higher then 174
BUT download the latest version in the Download section,
First unscrew all 4 screw by red circle
Now unscrew the 2 or 3 screw by red circle.
If it says 42 by red circle, you are fine and good to go for the OLED display.
It say 33 on this picture should be 39 for latest OLED display
If you do NOT have the number 42 printed on the PCB we need to make this connection.
DO NOT SHORT ANY PINS.
AND DO IT WITH NO POWER ON.
If you are updating from old style display to graphic OLED. and if it just say adafruit when you power it up.
Then press joystick left 10 times.
"Setup Parameters" -> "Disp"
it should say "2,4 + menu"
Press right to save also if you have not changed anything.
If you have pin 33 on the OLED display plug then do like this if you want OLED display
Here you see how to change from 33 to the correct 39
Picture 1 and 2, here we cut the copper line from both pin 33 and 39, so they are both not connected to anything
Picture 3 just show the pinnumbers,
Picture 4 show how to connect the pin39 to the botton OLED plug connector
